In his Radio4 interview 19/11/11, Lord Freud relied on 2 main propositions:
1) A survey of GPs where a high proportion admitted to provide "fit-notes" sanctioning time off work when it was not in fact necessary.
2) "Over half the people who have a WCA do not pass it. Totally at odds with stats available.
Needs investigating and correcting.
The whole ESA, WCA, DWP, JCPlus, Atos Healthcare debacle. You couldn't make it up! As with other parts of the public sector, you don't know what really goes on until you see it first hand.
